   Kie.ai (kie.ai/) — an AI generation app with one API for top image models — creates the featured image via a custom MCP connector inside Claude.

   Publish to Shopify

   The finished article is pushed to your store as a draft with SEO meta fields, product links, and formatting applied.

What you need

• ✓Claude Desktop app with Skills support
• ✓Shopify store with a custom app for blog publishing scopes
• ✓Kie.ai account (kie.ai/) — the AI generation app used for blog featured images; sign up, then load API credits in one credit wallet
• ✓DataForSEO account for keyword research ($1 test balance; $50 minimum to load production credits)
• ✓Node.js and npm installed (required for the Kie.ai MCP server that Claude uses to call the app)
• ✓Optional but recommended: a Shopify Brain project with brand story, ICP, and tone-of-voice docs

Setup walkthrough

   Add the Blog Publisher skill

   Once you're ready to run this workflow, we'll help you add and configure the Blog Publisher skill in Claude Desktop (Customize → Skills). We keep the skill on our side and walk you through setup — there's no public download or zip to hunt for.

   Connect Kie.ai for image generation

   Kie.ai (kie.ai/) is the third-party app that generates your blog featured images. Think of it as one affordable API layer for leading AI image models (you pay with credits, not per-vendor keys). Create an account at kie.ai, get an API key, then add the custom Kie.ai MCP server to Claude's developer config (Settings → Developer → Edit config). Paste your key, save, and fully quit and restart Claude Desktop so the connector loads.

   Install Node.js and npm

   Claude talks to the Kie.ai app through an MCP server that runs via npm. Install Node.js from nodejs.com if you do not have it, then run the MCP install command from the server README.

   Create a Shopify custom app

   In Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps → Develop apps, create a custom app (e.g. "Blog Publisher"). Grant Admin API scopes: read/write meta objects and read/write store content. Install the app on your store.

   Wire Shopify credentials into the skill

   Copy the app Client ID and Secret into the skill so Claude can generate an authentication token. Skills are read-only after install, so we'll use Claude's skill creator with you to bake in your credentials.

   Add DataForSEO credentials

   Log in at dataforseo.com, request your Base64 API key via email, and provide it to Claude along with your Shopify credentials. Claude updates the skill with all keys — then save the final skill.

   Connect your Shopify store via MCP (optional)

   For live product data, previous blogs, and best-seller lookups, connect a Shopify MCP server so Claude can pull real-time store context during ideation.

   Add brand context with Shopify Brain

   Load a project folder with brand story, customer voice, ICP, and words-to-use / words-to-avoid. This dramatically improves article quality and keeps output on-brand.

Example workflow

   Prompt Claude

   Example: "Get my best-selling products from this month and promote them in a blog article. Let's think of angles together and publish it." Use Sonnet for writing; Opus for skill creation and complex setup.

2. 2

   Skill runs the pipeline

   Claude executes the Blog Publisher skill — pulling store data via MCP, reading your brand context, and proposing blog angles.

3. 3

   Choose your review level

   Claude asks which angle to pursue, the main goal (e.g. conversion), and how much to review: outline only, full draft, or full autopilot.

4. 4

   Approve and publish

   After outline approval, Claude writes the article, generates the image, sets SEO meta fields, and publishes the post as a draft on Shopify.

5. 5

   Review in Shopify

   Open the draft in Shopify Admin. The article includes the generated image, product links, and SEO fields — ready for a final human review before going live.

Tips

• Keep your Shopify Brain folder updated with tone-of-voice and ICP docs for 10x better output.
